The international break is over and we’re so back! Today starts a hell of a run of games through the end of the year, with Milan playing 7 games in the next 23 days, with 9 total games before the calendar hits 2025. While the Fossa here was quiet over the last two weeks, you can rest assured we’ll be ready for this onslaught of games.
One quick bookkeeping note: we’re now on Instagram, Threads, and Bluesky, in addition to Twitter. I would imagine our presence on Twitter will continue to dwindle as we move forward as it’s become a cesspool of racism, sexism, homophobia, and fascism, all things we are firmly against without exception. So be sure to follow us on those other platforms. Just search for some version of fdl1899 and you’ll find us (look for the logo), or you can follow the links on the homepage and/or menu.
Now, onto the game!

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
After a great win vs Real Madrid in Champions League, Milan stumbled at Cagliari, drawing 3-3 before the break. I was hoping, even despite the letdown, that Milan began to turn the corner. Fonseca has been gradually making adjustments, particularly with the lineup, and better and more consist results were starting to show their head. But today?…hmm…
Gabbia is back from injury so I don’t mind the start there (provided he’s 100%). Thiaw getting another start as well, again, good with that as he’s been quietly solid for the last month. Royal is still the best option at RB even if Kalulu should be there (still pissed about this). Even Leão is starting again, so Fonseca has put aside that pissing contest it seems.
But he’s sitting Pulisic to start, going with RLC as the CAM. Musah is at RW, which is fine if Fonseca wanted to get a little more defensive help, but not with RLC in the middle. The guy has 0 goals and 0 assists in nearly 800 minutes so far this season. Gross. We shouldn’t see him except in the dying minutes to close out games. Maybe Fonseca should’ve gone with that hybrid 4-4-2 with Morata and Abraham, with Morata occasionally dropping behind Abraham as a pseudo-CAM?
I don’t know, I know there are a lot of games coming up but you’re playing Juventus and they’re ahead of you in the standings. A win here is crucially important. Start your best players and get the lead and then the win. Fonseca’s playing with fire again and he may not have enough leeway to do that any longer. I don’t know, I feel like I’ve been wrong a lot this season, maybe this goes differently than I fear…I hope it does.
Prediction time. I’m going with a 2-2 draw. It wouldn’t surprise me if Milan come out slow as Juventus doesn’t concede much and Fonseca isn’t putting out a lot of firepower to start. Might end up chasing the game. Lisi feels differently than I do…
Lisi says: WE WIN! LEÃO SCORES. CLEAN SHEET. MAIGNAN MOTM. Under 2.5 goals. Love all of that. Love that Gabbia is back.
I gotta find out what Lisi put in his coffee…
Forza Milan
