WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
The 4-2-3-1 is officially BACK! I’m ecstatic, not going to lie. This is my favorite formation Pioli has deployed and I think it gets the most out of the team he has at his disposal.
First, Salernitana though. As Lisi said yesterday in the Whip Around, they have been struggling and bleeding goals. They’ve lost 3 straight, their second such streak this season, and are sitting dead last in the table. They have the worst defense in the league and the second worst offense. They’re at home and teams always give their all against a giant, so Milan will need to be prepared.
I’m fully expecting them to be and I think the 4-2-3-1 is going to get the most out of Theo and Leão. Lisi said mark him down for a Leão goal and I’ll do him one better. I think we get a goal and an assist out of the left side today. Another thing to watch, Reijnders coming up from that double-pivot. We know he likes to get forward and Tonali previously found success making smart runs coming from that position, Bennacer too, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him notch another goal and/or assist today.
Kjær was rather solid in his return last week and I think Bennacer in front of him and team MVP Tomori keeps that putrid Salernitana at bay. I’m going with another 3-0 win today and again, I think the left side is going to be flying and if Salernitana starts to cheat that way to help, Pulisic will there ready to sting them.
Go get’em boys and get’em early.
Forza Milan
