WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

Not a lot to say for this, at least there isn’t anything new I can say that I haven’t said in the last month, month and a half. Milan need to take the game to Hellas Verona. Not in-between, not safe, go and put them on their heels. That means Allegri needs to commit bodies forward and risk being exposed some at the back. Make Hellas think twice about committing their own bodies forward.

Leão has been ruled out but should be back for the Cagliari game this upcoming Friday. Niclas Füllkrug is officially here on loan with an option to buy but can’t play until the winter mercato window opens on January 2nd. I know Milan was looking at him…or at least his name came up in the rumor mill the last couple of years. We’ll have more on him before next game. Needless to say it would be nice if Nkunku could do something, anything. Pulisic should be starting as should Modrić. Gabbia is still out and while I haven’t heard when he might be back, he did appear to miss a serious injury vs Sassuolo. Fofana is back and we’ll see if he starts but I want to see more Jashari. Sigh. I’m sure we’ll get a defensive lineup because Allegri knows nothing else.

For Hellas Verona, they are playing their best football of the season, as they are have 2 straight wins for the first time all season. In fact, it’s their first wins of the season and half their points. So either Milan is catching them at the worst possible time or it’s the best time as they are for sure due for a regression to the mean. Either way, Milan cannot afford to drop points at home in back to back league games. They can’t, especially if they want to continue this journey for their 20th Scudetto.

PREDICTION TIME:

I don’t know what to think. Milan are rested and should win but we all know how they play vs bottom feeders. If you’re the praying type, throw out a few for the guys in red and black.

Forza Milan
