WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
If you didn’t have a chance to read my Milan-Atalanta post match…which was admittedly posted late…you’d know that I have a growing concern about us starting to see more and more of the Allegri that we all saw and mocked at Juventus. The Allegri that played ugly negative football, where teams drew about as often as they win and just leave the fans with a sense that they’re never going to give us something to really cheer and get excited about.
We are seeing a change up top, with Nkunku starting in place of Giménez, and considering how toothless the attack has actually been, I’m sure I’m with many of you in just happy in seeing a change, any change, at this point. I still want Modrić higher up the pitch as I don’t believe Allegri has anything to lose by trying it. They’ve been conceding I believe in part because teams can pick and choose when to go all out in attack (usually countering) and have little to fear about getting burned the other way. Let’s give them something to think about!
Defensively, with Tomori less than 100%, De Winter is back in the lineup. I like him, he’s solid, and let’s hope he’s a bit luckier this time than his last time out. As for Roma, loyal readers know I hate Mancini (dirty) and Dybala always gives Milan headaches, so for the love of god don’t give him space.
PREDICTION TIME:
This feels like another draw. Could be a one-goal win in either direction. Gotta win to keep up though!
