Matchday 9: Atalanta v Milan

Milan salvaged a point last time out vs Pisa, but it was nonetheless a letdown. Now there’s even more pressure to get a result here in Bergamo. Atalanta have been tough but not exactly rolling, although expect nothing less than their max effort as they’re going to want to protect their home pitch. Let’s see what Max Allegri has in store.

WHERE TO WATCH:

***New season, so tell me if this needs to be updated***

Paramount+ and FuboTV here in the US of Aye (Spanish broadcast on Fox Deportes in the US); FuboTV and TLN for Canada; TNT in the UK (maybe?); ESPN for Mexico; DAZN for Germany, Austria, Switzerland; a website called GXR for our friends in India; and illegal streams that support dictators and oligarchs everywhere.

*Let us know if this needs updating or if you have additional broadcasters to add*

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

Normally a point here and I’d be happy but I almost feel like they have to bring home all 3 points today. Maybe it’s not that dire but with Roma this weekend and Inter just after the next international break, Milan can find themselves back more than 3 points in the table and if they’re not lucky, maybe even back 6 or more.

Now, maybe with the light schedule compared to other Scudetto contenders this worry I have is unfounded, but I’d rather be leading that chasing come January 1st. So they need to show some grinta today and really fight.

As for the game, expect a better effort from everyone and hopefully everyone has a little fire burning in their belly. Leão has been on fire but he needs to get into the box too as we can’t expect him to score from outside the box as frequently as he has been. And again, I want to see Ricci sitting back more and Modrić more advanced. There’s no reason not to do this. Oh, and please let Giménez get on the board. Can’t be almost 10 games in and our striker has zero goals…

PREDICTION TIME:

Ivan Jurić has turned Atalanta into the dentist’s office and they don’t concede much. They also are the only undefeated team left in the league so they also aren’t losing much. Hopefully Milan can put the first blemish on their resume. A draw feels right here. Maybe Milan and Allegri surprise me.

Forza Milan
