THOUGHTS

I have no idea what’s going to happen, LOL. If you read the last couple of posts you’ll know the predicament Milan is in: getting some players back (Calabria, Dest, Saelemaekers, Messias), two of the most important players just got back after playing a prominent role on a WC finalist (Giroud, Theo), starting GK is still out (Maignan), and Milan is very thin up front with guys out (Rebic, Origi).

Milan has not looked good in their friendlies during the WC break and Salernitana has strengthened their squad by adding Mexican National team legend Ochoa in net and former Genoa/Milan flash in the pan Piatek. Milan has signed a 24yr old mostly anonomous GK from Columbia who won’t be available until around January 10th. So…yeah.

All of this being said, I’m expecting all 3pts, LOL. Leão should be ready to go as is Brahim and let’s hope De Ketelaere is too (Milan is going to need him to come out of his shell this month). I can’t believe I’m going to write this next sentence but…thank god Saelemaekers and Messias are back (gross). To be fair to them, the RW has been better this season compared to last and credit should be given to both of them as they have elevated their game. Lastly, Milan is expected to have their first-choice backline for the first time since Calabria went down on October 1, 2022. All of this bodes well.

So, I’m going with a 2-1 Milan win with goals from Leão and Brahim Diaz.

Forza Milan
